About
Laura graduated from University of Maryland School of Social Work in 2008 with an MSW and a clinical concentration in mental health. Laura’s decision to become a clinical social worker came after some serious self-examination on where she wanted her path in life to take her. Laura started out with an interest in the business world and received an MBA from George Washington University, but eventually realized that her talents were better suited to working with others on a more meaningful level. Before starting a private practice, she was a therapist in an outpatient program at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center for 10 years, where she worked with individuals and facilitated group therapy. Laura has expertise treating a full-range of issues including: trauma (military and sexual), sleep difficulties, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, relationship difficulties, personality disorders, and bipolar disorder.
